Introduction
IL&FS Investment Managers Limited (IIML) is one of India's largest domestic private equity fund management companies, managing over Rs. 11.83 bn on behalf of leading Indian and international institutions. IIML has been an active investor in the Indian market since 1997 with aggregate investment experience spanning a decade and access across industry sectors.IIML is experienced in the entire gamut of fund raising, investing, planning exits, participating in restructuring etc.
Earlier IIML had very simple Annual Reports, but this year they wanted a high quality report as they wanted to depict the grandeur of their infrastructure. They wanted to show that they are working very closely with fund providers and fund seekers and we were required to prepare a theme and a tagline which reflected this approach to business. IIML also wanted an international and high quality Annual Report, well appreciated by shareholders and also by international fund providers who might choose IIML as their fund managers for India. Therefore they also needed it to do justice to their leadership position as they are amongst the top VC/PE players in the Indian market place.
Dickenson realised that the physical grandeur had to be depicted fresh through creative photography. We also decided to show two people shaking hands on the cover from the bottom up view to represent their strong business approach through partnerships. Two models were selected and used for a series of business scenes in various locations of the institution. We also took a series of candid shots of people at work to portray a buzz at IIML. The net result of the fresh photography directed and choreographed by Dickenson was largely responsible for a strong quality of their 2004-2005 Annual Report. Dickenson selected the theme “Partners In Creating Value” as the most appropriate one and wrote up its explanation. It also sequentialized and highlighted the key financial aspects and case studies of their investments. By using the right balance of their corporate colours and white space gave the annual report a very neat look. The total sum of the design process, layout and depiction resulted in an impressive Annual Report which spelt “No Nonsense”. |
