Introduction

An Artists' Dream Come True!
When DI was asked to design a mural for a wall 22ft in length and 11ft in height, it was every artists' dream come true.

This assignment was to conceptualize, design and print the Mural for ICICI Bank Ltd. is a one of a kind project we have done so far. The highlight of this experience was to deliver Concepts and Designs to meet the brief we received from Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch and her team.

The end result was a spectacular wall mural spread across ICICI Banks new back office ready for the inauguration day opening by Mr. K.V. Kammath.
The Signage Plan for this office was also undertaken by DI.

Matching Needs

ICICI Bank Ltd. was opening its new state of the art back office. We had exactly a week to conceptualise, design, print and install the mural for the grand opening.

The brief we received from Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch who is heading the Protech Group, was to create a mural that brings across the work mantra adopted at ICICI Bank Ltd. : (people*process)technology = customer value

This mantra classifies ICICI Bank Ltd. as a world class facility with specially trained and efficient people delivering innovative, customised solutions and seamless services to their customers hence increasing customer value.

ICICI Bank Ltd. wanted a very high tech and cosmic feel for the mural to symbolise advancement in technology. The designs for the mural had to be symmetrical and geometrical to give it some structure.

The colour blue was to be maintained as per their Corporate Brand Manual Guidelines to give the mural a corporate look.

Once the design was finalised, the mural was printed on Self Adhesive Vinyl using Large Format Digital Printing. Care had to be taken that all the colours were in line with the colours in the Corporate Brand Manual. With the installation complete, the mural was appreciated by all.

ICICI Bank Ltd. then asked us to design a screen saver using the Mural as the base theme. This screensaver was to be used in all the computers in the office.

We went ahead to plan the signage layout to identify where all the different groups were placed for that entire 50, 000 sq. ft. floor. There were approximately 40 pillars that had to be tagged. The signboards were again designed keeping the Mural as the theme. The signage plan was designed such that a group can be added without hampering the existing layout.

Once the signage plan was approved, the signages were again printed on self adhesive vinyl using large format digital printing. The vinyl was then pasted onto a sunboard which was then mounted on the pillar.

Conclusion

This project was a one of a kind assignment for Dickenson Intellinetics. It challenged all our creativity and practical experience. It was only after a lot of brainstroming and creative discussions did we come up with the option that met all the criteria of ICICI Bank. The overall output was much appreciated by ICICI Bank. This project gave us the confidence to try our hand at something new and satisfy the client. Again, we would like to thank Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch and Ms. Ajita Nair for the opprtunity.
Do keep an eye out for the new cafeteria murals…
